Meet Your Instructors

Charlie Holt

Instructor

The Rev. Charlie Holt is the Rector at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Jacksonville. He is the founder of Bible Study Media. Fr. Holt’s passion is to see the worldwide Church reconciled, reformed, and renewed for vital Gospel mission to the lost. To that end, he has served as an ordained pastor and priest for over 20 years. He is the author of The Christian Life Trilogy, Draw Near: Hebrews on Christian Worship, and he is the Director of the Hearts Alive children’s curriculum project. He most recently served as the Associate Rector of Teaching and Formation at the Church of St. John the Divine in Houston, TX. He and his wife, Brooke, have three children. Douglas Dupree

The Rev. Dr. Allen Hill

Instructor

The Rev. Dr Allen Hill is the Episcopal Chaplain at Florida State University. Before coming to FSU, Fr. Allen served for over 17 years in cross-cultural ministry as a missionary in both Asia and Latin America. Throughout that time, the primary focus of his ministry was on leadership training and formation through theological education. For 13 years he served as Dean/President of the diocesan seminary of Peru, then as Rector of the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in Lima. Fr. Hill, who has a PhD in Theology and a MA in International Education, is excited to minister on a university campus and to reach out in love to the people of FSU. Dr Hill will teach the Church History and Theology Module 2: Part III Beyond Christendom.

Matt Marino

Instructor

An adolescent atheist turned Episcopal priest, Matt likes to drink coffee, talk about Jesus, and will shamelessly invite himself aboard your sailboat. Matt has been rector of Trinity since April Fools day, 2019. Also on Matt’s resume: Basketball coach, history teacher, recovery planner, Young Life Area Director, summer camp program architect, youth/young adult director for the Diocese of Arizona, seminary instructor, church planter, consultant, and ballboy for the Phoenix Suns. Each of those experiences has left him more in wonder at the grandeur of the One who made us and calls us home through the cross and empty tomb. Matt and Kari have two grown children, Gabrielle and Luke, who love God and his church. Matt blogs at thegospelside.com.

Sarah Minton

Instructor

Sarah Minton from October 1, 2022 is the new Priest in Charge of St. Mary’s Church, Green Cove Springs. She has served as Curate of All Saints’, Jacksonville from June, 2021- September 2022. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School in May. Before moving to Durham, NC to attend Divinity School, Sarah served for 9 years at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, Florida as the Director of Family Ministries as well as the Parish Administrator. Prior to that, she served at St. Paul’s-by-the-Creek in Jacksonville as the Minister for Children and Youth. During her time at St. Paul’s, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministries from Florida Christian College. Sarah was raised in Orange Park, Florida and is married to her husband, Steve. They have three daughters, Hannah, Leah and Norah. Sarah will teach the Life and Ministry of Jesus modules with the Rev. Charlie Holt.
